Re: NAR Board of Trustees

Now, I have to disagree there. It produces income for the farmers, traders, factory workers, truckers, stores, and shareholders of the cigarette companies and stores. Not to mention advertising companies, magazines, and other sponsorship arrangements. Then, there are the long term income-generating effects; doctors, nurses, medical supply companies, hospital/hospice workers, drug and chemotherapy companies, diagnostic equipment companies and technicians.

And finally, it generates income for funeral homes, burial services, florists, gravestone carvers, hole diggers, and airlines and bus companies (for when friends & family must travel to attend the funeral of their loved ones) and the hotels and restaurants which they utilize. Moreover, most of these things generate tax revenues.

So, to say that cigarettes give NOTHING back is plainly mistaken.

Positive income BB positive.

I call making income on killing people negative income.

also the positive benifit is referencing the USERS and unwilling non users. not the ones hocking the crap.

thats like say>

Sure but it makes sense.

every try to actuall FOLLOW THROUGH on some peice of spamm.

try it.

you might be amazed how many are total dead ends.

I am betting the number would be shockingly accurate if a study was done (and probably already has been hence the figure they came up with)

Since this is going off topic I am going to make the reply it short.

its far less flawed than making something OK that has NO BENIFIT WHATSOEVER and in fact KILLS.

I personally am willing to live with the risks and health problems associated with the fuel I use since not using it would end my life as I know it.

Cigarettes do nothing for me but hurt me. they do nothing for smokers but hurt them.

why can your brain not compute this extremely MASSIVE and IMPORTANT distinction.

and nocotine means nothing to me. it is not the only component in cigarettes. it is simply the components that addicts you to smoking them.

How do I know this. this is why nicotine free cigarettes are not doing so well. my brother (smoker with TONS of allergies and ASTHMA NO LESS !! says they SUCK (I bought him a pack))

Nicotine AS IS USED in cigarettes I am betting provides none of the benifits you link to.

and its (fuel) ok for me because it has ABSOLUTELY NEEDED AND REQUIRED benifits.

they are not only positive but MANDATORY for our way of life. YOURS included. you would not have that damned keyboard to hack at without FUEL.

Way too many issues not of import to you enrage you. Get a life.

Smokers habits have been part of society for hundreds of years, and suddenly it is bad and enraging? Society is becoming zero tolerance.

All laws are arbitrary. All laws limit some people's rights. All laws cause social costs.

So why do we need so many on so many levels and with such minute control and detail?

Tod, That's great news. It took me 10 months to finally get completely over the craving. Up 'til then, I wanted a cig every day after lunch. And I haven't established a good exercise regimen, so...well....my kids are calling me fat :) But I'll get back down.

Anyway, the running should help in multiple ways. Since it stimulates the production of endorphins, that should help nicely with any cravings.

As for the knees, try stretching well before you run. I think there are some specific stretches you can do which should help. Get a book or maybe check with a knee doc or PT.

Speaking of books, I checked out ROTW at the library yesterday so I could get some data for bashing an Estes Mercury-Redstone into a Little Joe.

Don't take the jab personally. We all fall for BS once in a while.

Yes I have tracked SPAM. I agree it's not fun but I can prove I've done it. My penis is now 7 feet tall and girth is 84". I use a trailer to carry it around. Oh & it is hard as a rock of Viagra.

Congratulations, Doug. I hope you consider yourself a non-smoker, and not just a smoker who has quit. It's an acceptance issue... When you actually believe you are a non-smoker, it will be much easier to quell those temptations to light up. If you are "just on the wagon" so to speak, you're almost admitting that you're going to have another 'one day'.

Good luck. Hey, are you putting $4 in a jar every day? That's a K700 a month!

Precisely. Smoking generates positive income for all those I mentioned.

So if I make $1000 a week by selling oxygen equipment, that money is not spendable anywhere? I can't buy stuff with it? Wal-Mart will refuse my cash, because it's secretly encoded with tags indicating it was earned "negatively"?

It's nasty, horrible, and starkly brutal, but smoking profits some, hurts others. Whether I like it or not does not change the reality of the situation.

Now, if you want to debate whether smoking causes a net harm to society which outweighs the economic benefits, that is a completely separate issue, and I would most certainly agree that it does.
