Rocket Challenge amateur film crew.

I was behind a truck pulling a trailer with a car on it. I don't remember why I was looking at the trailer so closely, but I noticed something move and then a 3' piece of conduit (or such) slid off the back. Now at 65mph, this hit the road on one end and then proceeded to cartwheel and bounce. Where it ended up was 6' in the air! I was driving the truck and it struck {on end} just above the windshield on the driver's side.

There was another time we were in the hammer lane (3 lanes) and coming around a bend. In the slow lane a truck just ahead of us had a tire explode (fragment?). I could not believe the noise! Then, this flying tire debris comes at us just as in those dogfight movies where the planes fly through debris after the plane explodes. I swear it was that slow-mo effect! I was in the passenger seat and got the full E ticket view. :(

I was several cars behind a rig once that was carrying big concrete pipe (Mercury Redstone size at least). One of the 8 feet long 4x4s the pipes were sitting on came loose and started tumbling end over end down the highway. It bounced over the cars in front of me, I dodged it and it smacked a Dodge pickup behind me.

You can smell that coming for several miles on a bike. First you get this faint whiff of rubber, as if a car locked the brakes briefly. Then it gets stronger and stronger, you see a semi up ahead and sure enough, in a few minutes tire debris and cars are going everywhere.

I don't ride behind trucks for any longer than it takes to change lanes.

What gets me is that they don't stop and pick up the pieces. Feel pretty sure Mr. Policeman wouldn't let me drive away after dumping pounds of steel reinforced rubber on the road.

Had a truck tire blow up right next to me on the freeway once, man was that loud! For a second I thought a bomb had gone off.
