1/32 kits i'd like to see

There's also something more musical/intellectual about the "beat" use of language - way more so than with rap...though one could argue that it's just a difference in dialect.

But I'd still much rather listen to a bop riff on "Willy the Shake" or "The Bad Rapping of the Marquis de Sade" over some gangster crap anytime...

i'd rather get root canal then listen to gangsta crap. in 82, magnus johnston, a well known boston artist and also dj did the show before mine, lecco's 'lemma. all of it was local kids doing rap and it was great. 2 years later he quit because it "went commercial". smart guy.

Yeah - there are smoe guys out there that have actual bands instead of using samples that I can respect. And I'd also rather listen to the locals than the formula-packaged guys the record companys ram down our throats...I might hear something original there.

in the heady days of punk-76-78, in the u.s., it was unbelievable. bands would play anywhere and i could see music 5 nights a week. we went to x bars, church's, lofts, an ac hangar, (amazing acoustics for 120db music!) coffe houses and anywhere 4 huys could set up. the style had come from london so we painted leather, ripped jeans, cleaned woolies out of sfety pins and razor blades and drove people nuts on the subway. damn that was fun.
