The guy who is the head of the 460th Bomb Group Association (The Black Panthers) was nice enough to send me a jpg of the worn-out panther that decorated their bar in Italy during WW II that I mentioned in a earlier post. This is the one that looks like it's seen way too many B-24 missions. I also note that its tail is tied into a pretzel. Here's the original group insignia:
