(air) Mosca sighting

Hi Troops:

I hit my local plastic emporium this afternoon and on the shelf was the

1/32 scale Polikarpov I-16 type 10 from the Czech firm of AZUR. Nice clean set of moldings, good surface detail on the fabric covered areas. There is an alternate part or two so I suspect we may see another kit for a different type variant. Decals cover two Spanish Republican birds and a bird captured by the Nationalists. Colors and register look good The cockpit is pretty basic, there is a small packet of resin detail parts for exhaust pipes, gunsight and a few cockpit details and a small fret of photo etch which includes the seat belt. I have always considered the I-16 to be one of the character aircraft of all time and am very happy to see this bird come out. I understand AZUR have a 1/32 scale Morane-Saulnier 406 in the works as well. More power to them.

They did a good job on the Devotine 520c that I am working on now, so if the I-16 is as good, I'll have to get one, and a MS 406.....

More money jumping away ;^)

That's intersting, thanks for sharing, I'll look into that kit as the name has some meaning to me ;-)
