He just seems to have some issue with the fact that our *hobby* is different than his *job*. I used to dispatch 911 as a job, wonder if I should be an arrogant snot over the fact others don't do that for fun?!

You are pretty accurate there.

Aside from Scale Modeler David has also had articles in Fine Scale Modeler.

He does have a really odd sense of humor, which he uses here on now rare occasions.

Unlike Dennis he is actually very talented.

damn, that was a nice area when i was a kid.

I was reading a bunch of IPMS Updates awhile back and ran into an article he did for them in which he basically trashed kit builders much the same pompous way he used to here. He's consistently an ass, you have to give him that.

It's was a very strange colour and usually looked different under different lighting conditions. There was an article on the car in one of my "Collectible Automobiles" a few years back and they were trying to describe the colour. Its appearance varied in each picture they had in the article. I've been shooting for a metallic blue-green myself.

I think his thrust is that we're not 'manly' modellers since we start with prefabricated pieces. Whatever...

Read your email and checked out your photo-essay of the r/c Flying Sub. It looks great.

As far as I know there has been at least 4 models of the FS-1. Aurora made a model that was 1/60 scale. It was reissued by Monogram about 10 years ago. Lunar Model has made a resin model to go along with it's Submarine Seaview and a 14" wingspan model of the FS-1. Also there was a resin version of the FS-1 that was roughly 1/350 scale for the Polar Lights reissue of the Aurora's Seaview by Rebellion Creations.
