Revell-Monogram F/A 18E Super Hornet

Anyone notice that Revell-Monogram has the F/A 18E Super Hornet scheduled for release next month?

The world is in "we'll believe it when we see it" mode on this, but it does look more official than annoucements in the past. With Hasegawa announcing an F/A-18F, RM needs to finally get it together and release their E.

If the RM F-18E's tooling is anything like RM's F-15E, it'll be just as good as Hasegawa's and cheaper.

The Hasegawa F/A-18F kit is just the R-M mold. Like they did with the Ar234B and C kits, R-M will release one version and Hasegawa will box the other. If the R-M kit isn't ready to be released, the Hasegawa kit won't be either.

Yeah but Hasagawa lists a 1/48th scale F-18F in their new releases section for this year. Wonder if they are related or they listed the scale wrong?

The Hase F-18F is new tool, confirmed over and over at ARC, Hyperscale etc... forums those in the know, will include features RMs won't like folded wing option and positionable LE/TE surfaces. And yes, 1/48th.

And a price three times the price of the R-M kit. Also, according to ARC, it will only have provision for folding wings, meaning that there will be cut lines inside the wings, but you'll probably have to wait for a special release for the actual folding wing parts.
