Sailng ship scales?

Does anyone know the actual scales of the Aurora Wanderer Whaler and the large (36-inch long) Revell Cutty Sark? TIA

You could always try asking Revell what scale the model is.

I agree -- I could swear that all of the early large Revell kits (USS Constitution, Cutt Sark, Thermopylae, CSS Alabama, and USS Kearsarge) were released on their first go around at 1/96.

The only ones that were not were the "box scale" (never given) Spanish Galleon and English Man O'War which are now marked up as 1/48, which seems close.

Revell makes more than one Cutty Sark. The large one is claimed to be

1/96 scale, but the real Cutty Sark is actually a small ship. In comparison to the Constitution, the large Revell Cutty Sark is in a larger scale -- some claim it's more like 1/70 scale. Also, Revell used the same hull mold for the Cutty Sark and the Thermopylae, even though the Thermopylae was a larger ship than the Cutty Sark.

I think the Constitution, United states (Old Waggon) are 1/96 but the cutty sark is 1/87? It was a larger scale so that it would be as big as the frigates.
