Revell Wessex HAS3

A while back Revell Germany released a 1/72 scale HAS 3 version of the Italeri Wessex. I've been able to find one of them, but would love to get a second in order to complete a Falklands diorama I have in mind...the rescue of an SAS element and helo crew on South Georgia. If anyone has a line on where I could find one of these kits I'd be most appreciative. TIA

Mark,

I don't think you'd need two HAS3 kits - IIRC the helos that crashed were both Wessex HU5s, so you'd need the Italeri issue of the Wessex kit

Don't reply to the btconnect address - and remove nospam!!

How many do you want? :) Seriously, I have two in Matchbox boxings and would happily part with them for $5 apiece plus postage.

I appreciate the offer but I'm looking for the Italeri molding rather than the Matchbox.

I've got plenty of HU5s. I'm almost certain the incident involved HAS3s. The HU5s were based on the assault ships which were in the Falklands vicinity rather than near South Georgia. I believe the helos used on the South Georgia raid were Navy not Marine and were detached from their typical ASW role on board frigates for the mission. If I wanted to be totally accurate I think I'd actually need three total, since I believe two went down in white out conditions. The third made an incredible rescue of both down helo crews and SAS team from the glacier in white out. Believe the helo crew were decorated for it. A seaborne effort by another SAS team also ended up a near disaster.

A bit off topic but I'd also always wanted to work on a planned but cancelled SAS raid on the Argentine mainland...apparently an attack on the airfield where the Super Etendards and their Exocets were based. IIRC some SAS actually backed out, saying it was suicide, resulting in cancellation.
