SF Bay Area shops

I've been travelling to the San Francisco Bay Area from the UK for a number of years now and have always taken a trip to the San Antonio Hobby Shop down by Mountain view. It always had a superb array of plastic models but looking at the web, it looks like the shop has closed, moved to San Jose and now concentrates on RC modelling exclusively.

Can anyone recomend a good shop for plastic models in the Bay Area? I've looked through the business pages but it's always good to get a good recomendation straight from the horses mouth so to speak.

Thanks

Mark

Berkeley's Ace Hardware on University Avenue, 1 block west of the UC campus, has a wide selection.

Mark, Depends on what you like to build. Yannis Hobbies is a pretty good model shop. It's basicly across from the shopping center that San Antonio hobbies was, at 4846 El Camino Suite 10, Los Altos. There is also D & J's Hobbies in Cambell and Hobbies Unlimited in San Leandro (but they are suppose to be moving in a few weeks). Eric

Yes, Talbot's is still there. They have a better than average plastic kit selection and the best diecast selection around. Tons of Corgi, Dragon, etc.Berkeley Ace Hardware is still the best, at least in my book. Aside from all of the latest they carry a wide range of Eastern European kits and they buy and sell collections. If you go there ask for Bill and tell him that I sent you.TomOn Feb 26, 9:42=A0am, Jonny B wrote:> is TALBOT'S in San Mateo still around? =A0 I used to go there when I> lived there 7 years ago> > On Feb 19, 6:47 pm, "Teresa" wrote:> > > > > =A0Mark,> > =A0 =A0 = =A0 =A0 Depends on what you like to build. =A0Yannis Hobbies is a pretty good>
