Trumpeter F-105

I was reading the review on the Trumpeter's F-105 in FSM and saw was of the concerns was the landing gear being fragile unable to support the weight of the model. Any thoughts how to correct this?

TIA

I believe Aero-Club has announced a set of cast metal landing gear for this bird. They have done them for some other 1/32 scale aircraft, including the 1/32 scale revell Hawker Hunter, a set of which I just bought. Aero-clubs website is:

Roll Models might have them in stock too.

Use the plastic gear as molds to cast a set in metal, or scratch build a metal set from brass tube, strip, and rod and use some of the plastic parts as detail items.

I plan to do the latter.
