DWG Editor and Chinese

I think this has come up before, but I get dwg from China from time to time and DWGEditor can open the file and display the geometry but gives junk for the text. I have looked inside the file and it is sourced from ACAD. The fonts I saw there come up in many discussions (in chinese of course). I would like to be able to get the drawings translated and for that I need the fonts to display. Anyone here conversant in ACAD Chinese language support? What are the issues involved in getting the fonts to display correctly? How does ACAD deal with non-english fonts (or english for that matter)?

You need to install the Asian fonts in Windows for this to work. I had this same problem until 2007 came out. Now DWGEditor works just fine.

I think all I did was goto Control Panels > Regional and Language Settings > Language Tab and check the Install files for East Asian languages.

I thought I had done this. Any particular settings come to mind? And was it just in 2007?

I think all I did was check the Install files for East Asian languages. I might have had to reboot as well. It installed something like 64 mb of fonts - Batang, Gulim, & SimSun are 38+ mb alone.

DWGEditor 2006 did not recognize Chinese fonts, 2007 does. eDrawings worked in both versions though.
