insert - edge - use ... in pro-e
"project" ... in one-space designer
but i can't figure out how to do it in solidworks. when i'm in sketch mode, how do i sketch/ project an edge, if it doesn't highlight a vertex/edge to create an arc or line with ?

got that detail designed in.
for some reason it's not edge projecting/ entity converting when i pick an edge on a surface of an object that is co-planar with the sketch i'm working on.
but when i mouse over the complementary surfaces offset from the "current sketch", then the edges convert into lines all right.
