That's the way I've always interpreted this rule. In this instance, if I were Larry I'd be inclined to file a complaint against the seller for his rude response :-)

I did. I got a form letter saying they'd investigated and didn't find enough evidence to do anything.

I don't think I should post his name, but since nobody on this group is likely to overpay for low end plastic kits I doubt we'll get stung by him.

And if you're still curious, just peruse the HO structures listing on Ebay for ridiculous prices from a vendor with lots of positive feedback. So much I wondered if he'd been selling to himself :-).

Yup..sure do...think you got it for about $9..$6 plus $3 s&h. Still recall couldn't get a buyer at 2 local train shows but one guy ever picked it up and said "Hobbytown"...must be a new outfit." :)

No blood no foul. I agree that the seller absolutely has the right to respond, but the starter of the thread has the right to voice an opinion ~in private~. There is no interference, or as a lawyer would say "no one has been harmed". You have to prove harm at least, among other things.

I would say though that emailing the guy is beyond a waste of time. One would be quite busy mailing everyone who started train auctions too high! A nerve was struck for sure.

Wrong: the theory of the efficiency of the marketplace depends on informed buyers and sellers. Otherwise extraneous BS becomes a large factor, like idiots buying Hummeroids which are never driven off the road (and overwhelmingly poorly driven on the street) to achieve feelings of power and satisfactions of passive aggression they can't otherwise have.

A society that bases its ethos on the marketplace has a responsibility to ensure information is equally available to buyers as to sellers. Cheney's in court these days for skipping that responsibility as an officer of such a society.
