Jun 16, 2005 8 Replies

Gentlemen,

This old age thing is getting to me, a few months ago I found via IT a web site for piston rings because I needed one for my Bradford. Now I need them again and cant find them on IT and to be honest I've lost the Bill. Can anybody recommend someone, my company were near Liverpool I think.

Not sure if that counts as 'near Liverpool' in your book?

For purpose made rings one source is Clu-pet somewhere in the Furness area IIRC

I have dealt with f w thornton as they are only a few miles away from me, what a company, they still stocked pistons for my 1941 jowett engined crawler, and from the looks of the boxes they had been in stock for 40 years.

Good Lord, are they still in business? I remember when I briefly worked for AE Sales (makers of Hepolite pistons) in the 1960's, Bradford were THE place to go for the out-of-the-ordinary pistol or ring.
