I have a number of new G/F and Fleiscmann N gauge locos that I whish to convert to DCC. I use a Twin Centre (Fleischmann) and am of the opinion that I need not use the fleischmann (expensive) twin decoders in all the locos. Is this correct? Can I use Lenz ones for example and if so which ones? Converting Farish to DCC is easy now that some clever bod's have come up with a couple of ways to go about it. I just need to be sure about decoder compatibility as I have read of some problems although all NRMA compatable items should work. Cheers

Hi, I have a number of G/F and Fleischmann locos I wish to convert to DCC and am of the opinion that I can use any NRMA compatable decoder i.e Lenz etc with my Flieschmann Twin centre. Is this true? The Fleischmann twin decoders are a tad expensive as they cater for those folk with older FMZ systems. I will need about 10 or so for loco and lights operation only
Well, that is the whole point of the twin centre, you can use any nmra decoder which includes Lenz decoders, if you are in N scale you will need the smallest ones. Keith Make friends in the hobby. Visit Garratt photos for the big steam lovers.
