Just got around to viewing the cd rom on the Dec British Railway Modeller.
DCC looked great.
Does anyone have any ideas on when Graham Farish brand may release DCC ready locos in N gauge?

No mention of it in the 2005 catalogue. One possible problem is that the Bachman EZ system uses a very large decoder possibly to keep costs down so there may not be much incentive for them to do it.
It is possible as you are probably aware but it takes some work.
So far my Farish DCC fleet is:-
3 panniers (you need an insulated bottom brush holder kit) 1 large Prairie (same problem) Langley 2251 (same problem) 08 (same problem Class 25 - new type Class 56 - new typeAnd a Dapol 14XX - relatively easy
But like you I would love to just plug and play
Still, running is greatly improved

I've mentioned it before, but I spoke to the Bachmann representatives at the Model Rail show at Steam last year. I asked about DCC in N and they said "give them time to get the OO stuff sorted".
It is on their agenda, but it's probably quite far down.

Don't hold your breath - they haven't done anything about DCC for their US prototype locomotives in N, and DCC has been more popular here for longer than in the UK... while Atlas and Kato have made it simple for
7-8 years. Even Con Cor put a plug-in socket for a decoder in their most recent steam engines.Just a point of reference: Bachmann is considered a low quality manufacturer in N scale here in the US. In comparison to Kato, Atlas, even Lifelike, they run poorly and have crude details. This trend HAS been reversed with their recent release of the Consolodation steam engine, but there's been nothing to follow it up, so it's hard to tell if it's a trend or a fluke.
None of this speaks particularly well for the prospects of future GraFar or Bachmann UK outline releases, DCC or otherwise.
It's been a case of "beggars can't be choosers" in the UK up until recently. Apart from Union Mills (if you like a certain region) and CJM (if you are rich) Bachmann N has been the only ready to run.
At least the new stuff does run, the diesels quite well and the steam without the benefit of a push with a finger.
Perhaps Dapol will continue as well as they have started
