There's a fascinating article/site on the web about the Pennsylvania (sorry, lost the link). It focuses mostly on signalling, but (allowing for the authors apprarent slight bias) it appeared to be operated rather more in the European mould that others.

Deltic (the sound) HST Blue Pullman
I also like the class 121 DMU, no idea why, the class 87 and the class 66 because it is such a good locomotive.
Guy
Expensive for an 060
I think I'd still get a kit though due to price, especially as I want 2
Is a 50 really a Deltic? ;-)
Only if it's numbered "DP2"
Tim
Despite the risk of admitting have missed something - after over 10 years of commuting on WCML even I know the class 87 is electric.
Isnt it ?
Cheers, Simon
If we're including those then how about the Met's Metrovick 1200hp Bo-Bo?
Boofle!
Didn't they have Metroliners for a long time on NE corridor for 125MPH service and faster going back to the days of Penn Central in the 1960's?
Chris
And did not have an EE 16 CSVT engine inside :)
They're the same coaches minus the power cars.
And they're rough-riding crap.
They use them all over the North East including the NE corridor and the international trains to Canada.
These days they're all locomotive hauled.
Doesn't that depend on the engine inside the power car?
Unlike lots of submarines!
