Pre grouping wagon sheets

Sorting through my notes on pre grouping tarpalins - I'm looking for details of the markings used by the following companies . . .

Barry Railway Glasgow and South Western Great North of Scotland Highland Railway Hull and Barnsley Railway (my notes say it had 'red and white stripes') Metropolitan Railway North British (my notes say NB and NBR with quatrefoil) Somerset & Dorset

If anyone can point me in the direction of information on these it would be a big help.

I have what I think are fairly accurate details for . . .

Brecon & Merthyr Tydfil Junction Railway, CAMBRIAN, Caledonian, CLC, Furness Railway, GE, GN, GW, L&Y, LBSC, LNWR, LSWR, LTSR, MR, M&SWJR, NER, NSR, Rhymney Railway , Rhondda & Swansea Bay Railway, SECR, TVR

If anyone needs details of these I can send a GIF of my best guess - This lot may not end up on the site (although representative examples will be on the site) but I'd like to fill in the gaps.

Wagon tarpaulins were lettered 'H & B R' in large block letters and given white edged red cross stripes, and ropes with one white and two red strands.'

according to the recently-published "Album of H&BR Engines and Rolling Stock 1885" by Martin Barker, from the NER Association.

Thanks for that - The H&BR stock fund were very helpful when I was researching this line, at the time they did not have the details of the wagon sheets. Good to see they now have a web site. Interesting line.
