Godwins law has specific criteria. Note my careful avoidence.
I also note your avoidence of the specifics ....LOL
Odd..I had to do that when I got my Concealed weapons license. In fact..have to do it every two years. I also had to submit to such when I got security clearence both in the military, law enforcement, and for two governmental agencies I do work for in the machine tool repair business.
So what part of that is being treated like a criminal?
Btw..about passports..I note you failed to comment on that particular question as well.

Not to argue your other points, but aren't citizens of Norway, as well as all other Western Europeans, Australians, New Zealanders, and a few others, exempt from the US-VISIT program under the US Visa Waiver Program? In other words, you don't have to be photographed or fingerprinted at entry, if I understand correctly. They just take the information from your passport.
Now, the whole thing is changing over time, so I don't know the current status. But I think you're exempt.

But sticking to the facts wouldn't be near as much fun, would it?
Tom may not be aware of how it works. I'm not sure I'm aware of how it works. There's a good chance our Director of Homeland Security doesn't know how it works.
There are actually four separate programs in play, with one recently replaced with an incoming visitor program; two different programs for visitors returning home; and with the latter two being conducted on a "pilot" basis. As of today, I think we've just exempted Mexicans.
It's a freaking nightmare. We're throwing stuff at the wall to see what will stick until November 3rd.

Just heard from a friend (70 year old woman) that a drug sniffing dog (on the lookout for geriatric mules presumably) zeroed in on a salami sandwich in her purse. Guess the dog's nose wasn't as finely tuned as we're lead to believe. The topper was that they confiscated the sandwich. The public is a bit safer today thanks to this tight airport security, but who protects old people from airline food? ;-)
Wayne
Holy cow. They make you pay for an inspector? That sucks.
...meantime, the little old lady, having distracted the dog with a salami sandwich, slipped through security with a half-kilo of cocaine while the security guards fought over the salami...

Well, no -- I meant real, serious, deep criticism, not the everyday grumbling, the standard political posturing, nor the easily dismissed critique of people like Michael Moore.

Well, the old "if it weren't for us wonderful, selfless, god-like Americans, you Europeans would all be talking German now" is, frankly, so far below contempt that I don't like to respond to it.
Don't pretend to be dense. It's unbecoming. ;-)
Oh -- OK: "I don't know."

That's possible -- I haven't followed the development too closely lately. That's the new passport we have to get to be allowed into the USA, right? The one with the picture and fingerprints already in place, machine-readable?
I'd be scared stiff, anyway. :-) I've criticized US foreign policy in public, so I *may* be on some huge list of possible subersives, and when you combine that with the knowledge that, there and then, I'd formally have absolutely no rights whatsoever, I'd be plenty nervous.

Which part of my post did you find that in? And you never did respond to my question about Vidkun Quisling. It may have slipped your attention.
Dont pretend to be wounded, it only makes you look childish. I note your avoidence of the various bits about other folks having the procedure done for other than criminal reasons. You do tend to snip things that you dont like to respond to....
Gee..one good answer. Try it again. It could be habit forming
Gunner

So you are making the broad claim that you dislike being treated like a criminal..and you have no idea of what really is going on?
Hummm I think we have a credibility issue here.....
Shit man.. if every one who criticized US policy was on some list..3/4 of the American public would be under survailence and the borders would be locked tight. Aint happening.

LOL! His physical appearance renders his observations invalid, then.
I guess that made Jane Fonda extraordinarily astute and unerringly accurate. Now *she* was a spunkrat.

This:
| Ill have to remind someone the next time National Socialism raises its | ugly little head in Europe. Btw...where is Victor Quisling buried?
...which I read as "well, then, the next time around we won't come over and solve your problems for you, and, by the way, since you're a Norwegian, you're probably a Nazi yourself, right?". You may not have meant it that way, in which case I totally fail to comprehend what you did mean. I've certainly heard this from many other Americans, albeit most of them people who couldn't hold a candle to you, integrity-wise.
In case you were serious, he was cremated, and his ashes laid to rest (many years after his death) next to his mother's grave, in Gjerpen, Telemark. The Norwegian King formally considered and approved the Christian burial.
Of course. Not every comment needs (or deserves) a response.

Wrong, Gunner. The decision to photograph, fingerprint and interrogate all entrants was made. When it became obvious that it would be impossible to implement it in time, modifications were made, like the one I mentioned, where a machine readable passport with ditto photograph and fingerprints would do -- for now. So they offloaded part of the work in the case of "friendly" nations... In any case, the whole "Homeland Security" spiel is laughable.
Hope not. They've granted themselves the *right* to do it, though.
