CYA. I'm done.

At least it did SOMETHING useful.

Ditto.

if you truly believed that, Joel, you wouldn't be here

why would you choose to expend time in a "valueless" activity?

So true......if I figure correctly the forum which others are speaking is the very sanitary forum (very much missing collapsible headers) I quietly asked them to remove my name from. I'm sure they are a great group of rocketeers, but I asked several questions and almost every time responses were "well I've never done it but I know a guy who used to......." They weren't the answers I was looking for. I sat back, asking questions in both for awhile and felt that RMR was definitely more worth wading through than the other. Then I had 3 posts censored......THAT was the last straw. I had emailed and ragged about being censored, got an answer I didn't like and told them to remove my name from everything. If you hate censorship you have to be willing to seperate the wheat from the chaff at some point. I'm more than willing to do it. I hate being censored. Plus, I'm genuinely entertained at times on RMR with some of the 'wars'......some even bring a smile to my face. It's great to see passion, even if it appears to be destructive at times. I'll hang with those with passion, sanitary is not my style. :-)

I suppose the main reason I like rmr is that the core of this forum is freedom. Freedom to express whatever you want. I realize it's not always going to be courteous, I wish it were so, but it is honest and it is information in real time, from real people, in their own words and experiences.

Personally, I try to be courteous and open minded and it's ok if you disagree with me or want to contradict me, as long as you have your facts straight. There have been times I said one thing but meant another and I have been corrected. To me, that is a good thing. I do not want to mislead anyone and there are enough knowledgeable people here, to catch just about any flaw concerning the hobby.

As far as politics go, I also think it's a good think to hear from hobbyists from all over the globe. Many times I've very much enjoyed the input from around the world concerning flying and also how we as Americans are perceived by other cultures. RMR affords us an opportunity to learn about the differences we have as flyers and especially political environments. that has to be just as important as what and how we fly.

I do not knock any other forums. I just say, to each his own.

Because I truly believe in my heart of hearts that sometime, someday very soon that it will all change. The air of rmr will become free. The tone of rmr will become peaceful and genuinely helpful. That all replies will be direct, on topic and thought provoking to the originator. That all disagreements will be handled by 'I believe, because', I disagree, because', 'lets just agree to disagree'. That best wishes in the holiday spirit won't included morbid reminders of days gone by. Because by some minuet chance, a helpful suggestion -that I post- might start that apocalyptic transformation,.... Hill who am I kidding? The same reason as you, everyone else, and about a million TV viewers.

Because it's on.

Which list? Be specific. Stating a list you were/are on is not prohibited by the rules of ANY list I have ever heard of in rocketry.

What a maroon. Try to follow the logical order of posts before making such a dumb comment.

Don't forget - you've been able to build and fly those large rockets because *someone else* has been able to discuss, and take action on, the very politics you want to shun.

If we can't openly talk about the leadership or policies of our national/regional/local organizations, or the regulatory stuff that comes down the pipe from governments, then we can't do anything to effect change to them.

It's a dirty little fact of life, and you ignore it at your own risk...

I tried the new, unknown magazine. Let my subscription expire. Now the only mag I get is the NAR's, which I wouldn't get either if I had to pay extra for it.

I don't know who wrote this, but it's incorrect. Until recently, TRA only paid for issues delivered, as they were delivered. Under the current plan which is designed to separate TRA from HPR, TRA sends the subscription fees to HPR and it is then up to HPR to deliver the necessary issues.

In both cases, HPR is paid by subscriptions, period. TRA does not guarantee them a "certain amount of money". If no one subscribes, HPR gets no money.

HPR is GUARANTEED to have "TRA sends the subscription fees to HPR and it is then up to HPR to deliver the necessary issues.", whether ornot they EVER do.

Whose moronic idea was it to have even one thing to do with Bruce Kelly or HPR magazine ever again considering his track record??

"TRA sends the subscription fees to HPR and it is then up to HPR to deliver the necessary issues."

They guarantee him 100% of the money. That IS a certain amount.

Butif they doand pay it through TRAhe does evenif TRA KNOWSfull wel HPR magazine is absconding with the money and not delivering as agreed like last year, and the year before, and the year before, and the year before, and the year before, and the year before, and the year before, and the year before, and the year before.

However, to the best of my knowlege, TRA has never accounted for subscription money that was or was not paid to HPR.
