Can You Please Help ID this Part?

Hi

I am trying to ID a model part from a kit that was available in the mid-1970's. Please ignore the color, it's just metallic paint.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Bill, copy and paste in your browser, delete [IMG] from both ends, it'll take you right to the picture then. Example;

You have to paste the two parts together minus the [/img] part:

Thanks Mike. I have no idea what part that is. It looks like a front crossmember involved in the steering but as to the kit..?

It looks like something cylindrical is supposed to be cradled in it. What hits me as odd is the notch in the back of the locater pin; about the only time I've seen something like that it is where an electric wire is supposed to snake through.

My guess is that it is a support for something in an RC model, perhaps an electric motor. The holes on the ends suggest screws.
