Al,you really should stop having a battle of wits with unarmed people...

Rule of thumb- If you say you're too old for her, I guess you are. Kim m

Yeah, it starts to sound like the Republican platform. (G) I'm more afraid of the Christians in this country who no different from the Taliban except for minor theological nitpicking. Kim M

I took one look at one of them and gave up. Their bias was just as bad as yours.

I still have YET to see one explanation why it is fair to make US heavy industry pay soo much when many other developing countries get a free pass.

So far not one website, or post from you, or anyone here has convinced me that Koyoto is nothing more than an attempt at redistrubitating wealth away from the US, and towards the rest of the world. To me, Koyoto is nothing more than a *tax* on the USA for being successful, one that the rest of the world does not have to bear.

Why are you soo against ONE standard for all ?

Because his country couldn't afford it.

Yeah, I was just counting on TV all the Taliban headed to FL to conduct hurricane relief. Of course they might be running a bit late though, with so many registered Afghan voters to murder before the elections.

Yeah, US Christians and the Taliban. A couple of carbon copies those two.

Why is it that the Republican convention speakers were heavilly those who oppose many of the platform's major points?

Tom

I think it is because even the Rep. advisors (many of whom scare the bejeesus out of me despite my general conservatism) realize that the party's main agenda does not mean much to swing voters.

I still love the one analyst when McCain was running against Bush in the primary, they were heading into SC. The guy was on PBS (I think) and said words to the effect that SC would be a defining moment in Rep. history for the next 50 years. When asked what he meant, he said this would be a battle between the Patriotic and religious wings of the party faithful. The religious wing won with Bush.

I think most swing voters are closet Americans first. Genrally meaning they oppose things like UN influence on American actions, but also oppose religion overtly in public affairs. Given the demographics of those who voted for Perot in the first try (largely middle class professionals like engineers, doctors, lawyers, high end blue-collar workers), I see anecdotal support for my view.

Which speakers were those....and what numerous and major platform planks do they oppose?

Kevin

I don't care.

You must be the most thick-headed and ignorant person on earth! You don't see anything that refers what he said to a direct threat to the US? The inference is clear. The US (you can also include Spain and Bali, now) has absolutely no difficulty understanding who the subject and target of the statement was/is.

Of course, you have no frame of reference; no experience to form a learned opinion, do you? You only believe what you happen to see and percieve with those rose-colored blinders you have on. It amazes me that one can be as dense as you and still continue to survive. I'll bet you have to set your alarm clock just to remind yourself to breathe. Sheesh!

It is amazing, isn't it? It seems Bassticles constantly shows up to a gunfight armed with a stick.

That remark is so out in the ether that it doesn't even merit a specific reply. You need to adjust the transceiver on your tinfoil hat, Kim. Your reception is terrible; you're also coming in broken, garbled and about half a meg off freq.

They say the meek shall inherit the earth. Thank God I will be dead by then.

You give him/her/it way too much credit here. That would take an actual positive thought. More likely Mom sets the alarm clock for him/her/it.........................

Aw, c'mon, aren't they a litle different? Are they all marrying off their women at 13 and defying the central government by maintainng private armies armed with automatic weapons and RPGs? There might be a handful (i.e., less than a thousand) in the backwoods doing stuff like that, but most of them don't. When fundamentalist Christians advocate prayer in school or tax breaks that benefit their ecclesiastival preferences, or call for anything that would impinge freedoms in this country, it bothers me. The less influence religion has on politics, the better. However, I don't mind getting a jet liner with them.

Well, I can open the Christian Bible and show you a similar passage attributed to Christ. Does that make all Christians drooling fanatics???

Bill Shuey

Oddly enough, when I was typing my last post, I was visited by some village idiots that spent all night listening to Jehovah's radio. The literature they pressed on me was certainly no less offensive than the 1998 quote. Personally, the more Muslims I've met the more I like them. However, they are "westernized" ones that left the Middle East to get away from the bullshit. AFAIC, none of the Abrahamic religions are compatible with a free society. Kim M

Again, you miss the point, my friend. I've never, let me repeat that, NEVER, said that all Muslims are bad. When I was stationed in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Oman, and yes, even Somalia, I met several Muslings that I got along well with, and I still correspond with a couple.

I can't understand why you can't grasp this concept; every one else except, perhaps that Bassticles guy seems to get it and he's hopeless. Let me say this for you again......The ones I have a hard-on for are the: Islamic extremist/terrorists!

You know, the guys who maim and kill with cowardly bombs and other terrorist acts of violence.

Say it with me now.....I-S-L-A-M-I-C -- T-E-R-R-O-S-T-S.

These are not your average neighborhood Muslim family. These are hard-core religious extremists and killers; they're bad guys and they need to be retired from duty with extreme prejudice, as they say.

Let me repeat this again for you so you can get it even with the receiver in your tinfoil hat off freq;

I-S-L-A-M-I-C -- T-E-R-R-O-S-T-S, not Muslins, as in practicers of the religion of Islam. And, by the way, I don't know of any Jehova's Witnesses who have pilited an airliner into a skyscraper. If you do, please share the details with me.

I hope all will forgive the typos in my post above. I've been having some problems with the muscles and tendons in my hands and my typing has gotten progressively worse over the past several months (perhaps I can claim a 4th Purple Heart for it).

Unfortunately, this is one of the posts that I forgot to run through my MS Word spellchecker before posting it. Typos notwithstanding, I think the meaning still comes through.

Okay. Which one? You don't even have to quote any of it - just give me Chapter and Verse and I'll look it up....

Strawman. I never said all Muslims were drooling fanatics, just the Islamofascists.

Oops, sorry - I forgot I'm not supposed to use that term. Did we ever agree on something that was acceptable to everybody? How about Islamoterrorists? Will that work?
