Insert> Component> Existing Assy 2004

Another new feature in 2004 that I don't really care for is the one that pre-selects an open part or assembly. Often I have several files open and seldom does it pre-select the one I want.

Is there a way to turn off the pre-selection and have it function like it did in swx2003?

Thanks,

Nope I believe that's hard coded into SW this time.

I would sugggest you highlight the window that you want to put into your assembly before making your assembly. Or just click the browse is Icon.

What you can do is uncheck the two boxes at the bottom so it doesn't start up when you open a new assy, and so you don't have to wait for the graphics preview. Hit the Browse button and select you file.

Or open the new file, tile horizontally, and drag & drop into the assy.
