Another MR ad

I've been waiting for someone to comment about the Bachman ad on page 29 of the October MR. Unless I missed it, no one has.

They're touting their new Spectrum ten-wheeler. According to the ad, it's "Based on a catalog-standard Baldwin built in the early nineteenth century"!

Just think - The John Bull, the Best Friend, and the Casey Jones all pulling those funny "stagecoach" cars. The folks at EarlyRail will be overjoyed :-).

Like, oh, 1901, eh? Confirms my suspicions that all those piercings in proximity to office equipment give off stupid rays.

No, early 19th Century means in the early 1800s.

1801 to 1900 = 19th Century.

1901 to 2000 = 20th Century

2001 to 2100 = 21st Century.

We are currently in the 21st century.

Make that _some of us_!

For myself, my hobby is in the late 1920s, my outlook in the 1960s and my computer early 1990s. I forget where/when I left most of my hair!

Hey, hair is easy to find. Remember everything sags with age. My hair just sagged and slipped down to become my beard

I'm pretty sure I had it with the biro by the couch.

Of course, I know that; but someone in the ad agency evidently doesn't.
