Amberley photos May 2004

All,

Having spent all day Saturday bashing bits of red hot metal for my tender tank, I decided to visit Amberley on Sunday. Once again I did not exhibit, but just spent a very enjoyable few hours having a look around. I will take an engine one day!

I some how took over 100 photos, but here is a selection of 46. I have included not only some of the engines, but also some of the buildings and clutter that make Amberley a fascinating place to visit.

Take a look at :

PS - at the risk of upsetting the stationary engine people, my favourite item there was a steamer, a Marshall 1926 ( S type steam roller), fresh from a 6 year overhaul and not been out yet. It was a stunner! Take a look at the photo if you don?t believe me! Sorry you IC chaps!

Thanks Chris, a nice reminder of a good day out. You missed out my favourite though - the Uniporn H15!

Did you stand by the two Bernard WO's (one on a Tarpen geny and one on a water pump) listening to them drifting in and out of synch?
