Crossley model (ebay)

I'm sure several of us will have been watching this with the kind of detached interest that knowing you can't afford it brings!

A couple of questions; what age + type was the prototype and, if the model was indeed built in 1957, what was the centenary being celebrated (1857 is way too early even for Crossley's first atmospheric Otto & Langen engine)?
