And your point is...?
And who are you precisely?
think, I
Your loss then! I think it's called something like "Cutting ones nose off to spite ones face"...
I think he's trying to say that John is really Mrs Turner pretending to be a bloke... or that when he's alone in the shop he dresses... no, stop, let's not go down that route where madness lies....
Cheers, Steve

And? There have been some excellent modellers who just happen to be female. Read the programme for some of the big exhibitions and you'll find that some of the constructors/exhibitors are female.
Oh yes, before I forget, the workforce at Hattons includes many ladies.
If you've got an axe to grind, consult the man himself, don't try to slag him off on a newsgroup.

Someone who may well be wise to seek advice from a solicitor should either A) John or B) Many of Johns satisfied customers catch up with him.

Its Arson I say.... Some ones been Arson around ! (W&G)
Yep, your probably right. Absent doing research is my guess, or maybe it was just his day off....
Get a life, then get a wife !

I forbare to comment. :-)
Back to JT, last time I rang the shop it was indeed Mrs T who took my order, however Mr T could be heard in the background "assisting" with useful comments.
It seems you believe that John shouldnt do things such as taking deliveries to the post office, paying bills, visiting his bank manager, meeting suppliers, vising customers or any of the 101 things which he could have been doing as part of his business.
As it happens, John is a very knowledgable modeller, who happens to own a shop and his advice is not only welcome, but sought after on this group, so I dont think your views will carry much weight here, whether you live in Hull or indeed anywhere else. I myself would have no qualms about buying from him.

Are you suggesting that my wife is not extremely competent at what she does? I dare you to come into the shop and suggest that to her!

Indeed, who remembers Vivian Thomson, she built a 'scale' [1] model of Eastbourne station back in the mid to late '60's.
[1] buildings, that is, the trackwork was adapted to fit the space and RTR Formaway trackworkPlease grind your axe somewhere else.
Honestly! You went to his shop and he wasn't there....
Did you have an appointment?
I've heard some b****ks in my time, but this..........

Bollocks I live in Atlanta and use 53A, who deliver faster and with more help than Hattons.

What on earth brought on this little outburst from a newbie?
used John's mail-order service and found it excellent. An SNCF colleague is currently assembling a Knightwing Sentinel which I obtained from John- his initial enthusiasm had come from looking at John's web-site. I'm another one old enough to remember Vivien Thompson's excellent articles on modelling not just Eastbourne, but a whole series of other Southen station structures (Medstead and Four Marks was one, IIRC). I recall one article included a view of what appeared to be a handbuilt CC3. Brian
There's a bit of irony in his message since M.G.Sharp is Margaret Sharp, Bill Eaglesham's wife who helped Bill run his shops in Cumbernauld, Glasgow and, I presume, Sheffield, and you were just as likely to get served by Margaret as Bill.

Not for a long time I'm afraid, Bill passed away several years ago and his son Ken took over from him. I'm not quite sure whether Maggie is still involved in the business.
John.
John,
I was pretty sure I remembered reading of Bill passing away, but I hesitated to mention it in case I was wrong.
