What no comment on Bachmann and Rebuilt Scot ?

So get your orders in for a Hornby one - wonder if Hornby made less that they would have done as they would be expecting a few misguided persons to wait for bachmanns to appear. Dont blame hornby if you dont get one from the first batch !

Cheers, Simon

Yes I ordered mine months ago.

Most are sold out for sure, but at least Bachmann's decision means we'll get their 'Jubilee' more quickly! ;-)

I read the Bachmann interview in MR the other night, and a curious thought struck me. I think it has Graham Hubbard that said that they often allocate a specific percentage of stock against dealer orders, so if a dealer orders four, they might get one, and if they order 400, they might get 100. Well, if they have orders for these higher quantities, why don't they make the higher quantities? The numbers they were talking about were not exactly massive anyway. Their current method just ensures that eBay prices go sky high.

I've assumed (cynically) that it keeps potential demand high for a re- issued version with different number/name/livery combination.

My guess would be that Bachmann Eurpoe's slots on Kader's production lines have to be booked well in advance, so they woulkd have limited flexibility to change quantities significantly.

I think the Super-D has been out on hold as well? There was no mention of it in the latest club magazine.

I can't say I've ever had that problem. I'm 99% sure we've *always* had the total number we've ordered from both Hornby and Bachmann.
