Also, Buell is NOT Harley. Harley does not own Buell. Harley is a minority shareholder.

A few of the lads are seen on them occasionally, but a bike that is capable of crossing a desert on a dead straight road, is not necessarily the bike for narrow twisting wet cold and muddy roads.

Actually, it is the Republicans that are better educated, on the average. Once someone moves from a low income family to a position of potentially higher income (through education), they switch sides of the political spectrum. You are repeating the typical liberally biased bullshit that truly does not exist in the real world.

The media behaves as though only the liberal colleges exist. Those are the ones whose viewpoints are broadcast on TV. The vast majority of US citizens attend lesser known colleges that are not as liberal as those few being mentioned constantly on TV.

Mentioning the non biased colleges would be like committing treason to the liberal press/media. Thus, the image is created that all college graduates are liberals. This is the opposite from the truth.

Most Republicans are not right wing radical ridiculously religious folks. Most tend to be more Centrist in their political views. Again, the liberally biased media tends to emphasize President Bush's fundamentalist religious views, while ignoring the fact that his administration contains well educated, extremely astute and Centrist positioned folks of various ethnic groups. Middle of the road Republicans are not necessarily Pro Life, racists that want to bring slavery back. Nor should one believe that all Democrats are necessarily Pro Choice, sexually indecisive, communists.

Being from outside of our country, I can understand why you would think in the manner that you have expressed, based upon what you have been spoon fed from "the media". But that is not how it actually is.

People of the world should wake up and realize that The Press/Media are our real enemy. Their function is to create sensationalism that sells sponsor slots on TV or newspapers. They have no obligation to tell the truth - and they do not.

Hopefully, this will be my last political post - for a while.

I say ride because my feet are screwed up from diabetes and pulling up on a gear shift lever with my toes would be extremely painful.

I wonder if the Kawi comes with a rocker shifter, like on the old Honda Dreams? Or if someone makes an accessory rocker shifter so that all shifting commands are via a push down of the toe or heel, instead of pulling up on the toe? I'm afraid to go to the showroom down the road because it just might be fitted with a rocker shifter and I would end up buying it on the spot. The wife is afraid that the bike will quit somewhere and leave me stranded, unable to walk out. She may be right.

Harley is about what their customers want - period. For many people, the latest techno whiz bang gadget is just not important. Can't everyone just accept that different people want different things without trying to belittle the choices others make?

Over the years I've ridden a bunch of different styles. I'm not a racer wannabe, so crotch rockets do not appeal to me. I don't do long distance touring, so that style isn't interesting to me. I ride a v twin cruiser because it's what I like. I didn't buy it to tear up the twisties, drag race at the stop lights, or to brag about owning the latest gizmo. I bought it because it's comfortable, handles well, and is a joy to ride. This is what I've settled on. There are other styles for other people, that's cool, variety is good. Let's just ride (or fly)!

Ed, use some of the race tech and get an air shifter! Shift up and down with the push of a button. Upshifts can even be done without using the clutch!
