I had that a couple of years ago. It made a big difference and wasn't much to go through, no anesthetic or other meds. Went home the next day on unrestricted activity.

Hope yours goes the same way.

Get well soon, Gunner!

This could be one of his longer threads and he didn't even start it. Me too! For tomorrow and for the next few months as he gets safely out of the danger zone.

A stent is a little mesh metal thing that is expanded by the angioplasty balloon inside the blood vessel to hold the blood vessel open permanently. (Metalworking content!) There was a guy at NAMES who built a machine to make them a couple of years ago and he passed one around. It was made by laser cutting patterns into a SS tube. They have ones coated with drugs now as well.

I know a couple of people who had this done in the last few years, both got there before there was any damage to their hearts and both are better than before after the procedure. It's one of the safer operations, but of course nothing like that is zero risk.

Sue sez: " I'm printing all your messages and will mail them to him tomorrow. I'm sure he'll appreciate them."

Gunner,

Take all the good wishes in all those messages, multiply them by 10 to the umpteenth power, and apply liberally to affected parts. Take care, eat that daily apple, and hurry back. We miss you!

That goes for a dedicated "lurker" (me) too... -- although I can't imagine Gunner applying *anything* "liberally"...

The little ol' lady neighbor who lived two doors down from me said, "Don't worry about your heart surgery Stan, people who walk into a hospital generally walk out. It's the ones who are carried in who you need to be concern about."

Best of luck to you Gunner. I hope someone brings you some food to LIVE for, not that hospital fodder. *Grin

You go Gunner!

Best regards,
