The Comercial Worked!

I'm sure Jim appreciates that plug. I have to reiterate it as well. I missed yesterday's NIRA launch due to my nasty cold. Besides it was drizzling all day yesterday, so I'm not sure if we actullay flew anyway.

But last month, we had absolutely beautiful October weather. We had a group of scouts show up and perhaps 10 kids launch their first rockets. We regularly get groups of kids liek this, but I'd have to say these kids had a better time than any group I've ever seen. What was different? Instead of a bunch of RTF extes rockets, the got a bulk pack of Fliskits Rhinos. A big rocket for less money than some of the mass market junk results in LOTS fo fun for the kids.

Alas, Apogee hasn't made any of their motors for over 2 years. The discontinued the BP micro motors at NARAM-43, and the AT fire eliminated the APCP motors just a couple months later.

Good thing the ATF compliant, DOT compliant USR motors are not certified!

AFAIK, TRA BoD and/or it's assignee(s) were the only ones doing any negotiating.

they appear to be selling Quest motors

that qualifies for an Estes boycott, doesn't it?

We have had over 40 website visitors directed from the flyrockets.com site, and four email contacts of persons planning to attend our November 22nd launch.

Same here. I had a sister tape it for me. It is only SLP, but it is a keeper. I'd like to get it on DVD or SVCD. There were some anoying comments, and some confusion bewteen ameture, HPR and EX. I like that they showed the failures as well as the successes, and behind the scenes stories. I thought that there should have been more edvertising as product placement. Aerotech and Cessaroni were mentioned in passing, but no real product placement. Only the Estes banner behind the swarm was effective. There were a few good oppotunities to slip in a "Now it's Miller Time", but only hillbilly beer was mentioned. They probably could have worked in a good ad for the new F-150 pickup trucks.

Hi All I agree

Response to the add with respect to Hangar 11, Inc has been good. Many many emails, and inquiries, some sales to existing fliers who "found Hangar

11, Inc" some NEW sales direct to rocketeer wannabes who showed up at the NEPRA and CTRA launches I attended last weekend. Also had contact from a youth club that looks for interesting hobbies for teens, they requested a rocketry Show N Tell. From a timing stand point it the end of the flying season in the NE. I hope the RC airs again in the spring...

The thing that really floored me was the precision tracking devices used to track the "low" flights. At the safe distance required for the outhouse flight couldn't have measured more than a degree or two. But that certaily didn't look like what the two trackers were sighting.

There were many spots where the editing didn't match the action. The 'box' rocket was almost into the ground and they flashed to the flier who was looking way up and saying "there should have been a chute by now".

I thought it strange that the trackers were not positioned further apart

That too. Especially since NONE of htse rockets really went vertical. Definite advantage to any one who tipped off in a direction AWAY from the trackers.

Doesn't TRA own any REAL tracking equipment. NAR has only had this for just over 4 decades...
