Bachmann one is 37/6 so bound to be some differences but they are both refurbished examples I'll grant you. The biggest difference I can see is the buffers on first impressions.

The first thing I noticed was the "chunkiness" of the top-of-bonnet doors on the ViTrains version. The cab windows look a little different, too. As you say, there *should* also be some detail differences.

The most significant differences to my untutored eye is in the cab front windows and the bonnet shape when looking head-on. There also seems to be a fair bit more detail on the Bachmann model.

Just out of interest John, have the ViTrains models been selling well since their release?

So no one else noticed the roof fan on the Bachmann is twice the size of the one in the ViTrain?

Yes I noticed that, but I couldn't state with any degree of certainly that there could not be such differences on different examples of the prototype - also not something noticeable from normal eye level viewing angle or indeed if the thing is revolving at speed.

I wouldn't say they had sold well, but we have sold some.

I forgot to mention all-wheel drive & pick-up and no traction tyres. Really good running qualities.
