Triang Loco

I have what appears to be a Fowler 3F 0-6-0 tender loco, in what looks to be a maroon colour. The running number 3775 is on the tender (yellow numerals) and the loco has a crest in a lined square on the cabside, also in yellow There is no company name on the loco The Triang number under the loco body is R251. Can anyone tell me more about this loco

Thank you in advance Bob

According to Ramsay's, it definitely sounds like a Fowler 3f by Deeley/Johnson - apparently made between 66 and 67 by Tri-ang - val. around

30GBP

This site has chapter and verse on Triang models. Although it only shows your model in black.

Try e-mailing the site owner. Who knows it may be a rare variation on the original model.

There is allegedly a 'rare' variation of this mass-produced model, which from memory is in BR red (not black) livery but still carrying the number

43775 - I've never actually seen one of these. The Midland Railway liveried version which the original poster has is not particularly uncommon.

Get hold of a copy of Ramsey's Guide compiled by Pat Hammond - it gives indications of value of virtually every British outline model locomotive produced.

Pat can be contacted via the

website and I'm sure he'd be glad to sell you a copy.

Hi

According to my 3rd edition it was made 1966-67 and a VF example would be worth £40 which seems a little low to me!
