Heck, it was years before I heard of the crash. Our local R&R station played the music a lot and it was only sometime around the debut of the Beatles that they started using 'The Late...' when identifying the artists. I thought they'd passed "recently".

and there were about 500 people that were "supposed" to be on that flight. like the 500 that just missed sharon tate's "party".
