In Oz, it's hovering arount the AU$100 Aus mark... or around US$70.
I cheated and bought the 12 incher of the ready made Artasylum version. Maybe one day I'll get the PL version.

display it when I've built it, but it will need a LARGE area to display it in. . Digital_Cowboy>>
Just send it to me when it's done, I'll have a spot ready... ; )~

I got the Bandai version when it first came out, it's quite a bit smaller than the PL. Does anyone know why it was pulled off the market?

I bought one at Hobby Lobby for 26.00. I heard it was very large but when I first opened the box the Ship looked weird to me and very small. I thought What the hell. This thing is only a foot long unless it is huge when you hang the panels off of it. Then I realized that dumbass (me) was looking at the stand! :-)) When I saw the "real" saucer sections at the botom of the box I was awestruck. It is HUGE!

Grandpa,
Looking at the box cover, and the (LARGE) pics courtsey of Polar Lights, I was thinking of doing something just like that. Useing LEDs and the light strips when I assembled it.

Max,
There are a couple of pieces that are misnumbered. Like IF I remember correctly the pylons, and the supports for the display base.

Max,
On the corrected instructions sheet, several of the parts making up the pylons are misnumbered in steps 3 & 4, as well as in step 13, and the clear rods that help form the display base are also misnumbered in step 14.
Let me know if you would me to scan and E-Mail you a copy of the corrected instructions sheet. Or if ya like I could scan and post a copy to the binary NG.

I saw some pics of the RMS Titanic done w/ fiber optics using a small bulb and battery really looked nice in the dark. It inspired me to buy
2 of the Titanic kits of which 1 will have fiber. I was surprised how much it added to the model.Perhaps a black light in another corner coupled with planets, stars or whatever in the room would complete a Space diorama aura.

The nice thing is that its just a regular room until night time, then it becomes a dream room. I suspect you could place a number of space related things, models & other stuff, figures etc in various places.
Speaking of, there was an old sailing ship model around a number years ago that had some reflective paint wash with it that reflected under black light. I disremember the name but it was a pirate ghost ship. Perhaps it too is in the room in an opposite corner because its been warped ahead in time? Shoot, any of the Lindberg model ships would suffice if you can find a black light reflective paint wash for them. The models are fairly cheap.

A quick google for "star trek fiber optics" shows there was a kit marketed with fiber optics. A different search turned up
Maybe the Titanic is warped to the future instead of a pirate ship??? This old mans imagination is running in high at the moment for some odd reason.
