(AD) Countdown Hobbies Debt Elimination Offer

Dear Rocketry fan,

In addition to selling rocketry and hobby items, I have begun working for a company called Debt Solutions International. They have developed a process that will wipe out 100% of your unsecured credit card debt for good. Never pay anything on it again! No interest, no penalties, no balance!

I doubted it at first, but researched it for a few months, then went ahead and did it myself. I will probably start working for them full-time after I sell Countdown Hobbies. That's how much I'm sold on this system. It also leaves your credit fully intact when you're done.

If this is something you're interested in investigating, call my sales rep, Jane Fearnow at 800-372-4715 to talk about it, or visit their website at

. They also have other options available too. Feel free to contact me as well for more info. God bless.

So, are you saying I can run up my AMEX for a few months until they shut me down for not paying & then get out of paying? That's what it sounds like you are saying.

If so, I want to order some stuff from Countdown Hobbies. You extend credit don't you?

I was about to say "If this is what it sounds like, I don't think I care to buy (honestly) from countdown any more. But I like your idea better, Phil.

Good luck selling Countdown. Financial services are a lot more profitable, steady and a slightly larger market.

:)

Your post was clearly off-topic BTW (a refreshing change from the persoanl attacks).

Visit their website at

and talk to the reps, and find out where the money the credit card companies "loan" you comes from. Almost everyone believes they pay your charges with their own money and you pay them back. It NEVER happens that way. Some of the people who worked for the credit card companies confirm this along with what are called GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and the Federal Reserve Banking Guide (I forget its official name at the moment).

Gary,

I understand how you feel. I have always been a person who paid people back what I owed them. That's why I had to investigate this for a number of months first. It seems to go against what we are led to believe about a lot of our financial perceptions.

Investigate what I'm saying at their website and find out who is using whose money.

This is absolutely insane. I suggest that you spend an hour attempting to understand how banks really work. Then, just for kicks, spend 5 minutes trying to apply some honest independent thinking to the moral and ethical implications of selling a pyramid scheme whose "product" is a plan to steal money from bank shareholders and the U.S. Government.

I'm not a religious person -- the Golden Rule seems to cover just about everything for me. I don't steal from others because I would not want them to steal from me. But Kevin, most of us on RMR who have done business with you know you to be a devout Christian. I'm no theologian, but I'm willing to bet (to the limit of my Visa cards) that even if Jesus was too lazy or too right-brained to grasp the fundamentals of the banking system, he would still consider sticking someone else with your bill to be stealing. Again, I'm no bible scholar, but I seem to recall something about "false witness" and "stealing" being bad things...

There was a good "EXPO" on those outfits on one of the major Networks, and while there might be good ones, a lot of them fell into the class of "If it sounds to good to be true, it is to good to be true" and a lot of people got suckered into a deal that left them paying way more and for a longer time than if they had gone to their card company and worked things out with them. Some people even lost their homes.

OK, I've spent 20 minutes or so investigating your claims (you owe me that

20 minutes back).

Here's what I found:

Debt Solutions International has a poor Better Business Bureau record:

"Based on BBB files, this company has an unsatisfactory record with the Bureau. An unsatisfactory record is given when a pattern in the company's customer complaints causes us concern, when the company does not respond to complaints, or when it will not substantiate its advertising claims. "

The page that you have referred us to is called the "Debt Relief Group"... (as parsing

clearly shows) and is the 'new' front for DSI. You can also plug in Mary, Mark, or Chris in that link and come up with phone numbers that are thousands of miles a part. Same form, same page, just a cheapo way for a company to get a lot of sales reps to use the same page, at little cost to 'the company'.

From the Better Business Bureau:

"The truth is, ON ONE can legally remove accurate and timely negative information from a credit report. But the law does allow you to request a reinvestigation of information in your file that you dispute as inaccurate or incomplete. There is no charge for this. Everything a credit repair clinic can do for you legally, you can do for yourself at little or no cost. According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, you are entitled to a free copy of your credit report if you've been denied credit within the last 30 days. You can also dispute mistakes or outdated items for free. Ask the credit reporting agency for a dispute form or submit your dispute in writing, along with any supporting documentation."

The claim by DSI that you entered into a 'fraudulant' agreement because of the 'rules of disclosure' and that you can use that information to 'dispute' any charges made in the last 60 days based on that belief is rediculous... and will cause a lot of grief for a lot of people.

Bottom line on 'credit'...? You spent money, you have a moral and legal obligation to pay it back.

How much is this going to cost you Kevin? Or is it more like a multi-level marketing thing, where ya got to get the people to 'sign up' before you make money.

Be careful Kevin... you can make a lot of enemies in that line of work if the promises don't come through and the company that WAS supporting you bolts, changes names, and opens a new store front for the next wave. :(

Yep. Sounds like the same k>

Anyone else notice the irony of this address? Hint: P.T. Barnum had a famous saying that applies very aptly to DSI. :)

So it's better than a hobby store!

So it is a pyramid (MLM) of sorts, too.

A hand holding service would add value-added at a fair professional cost.

I believe this disregards the moral, sir.

I find it painfiully amusing he would rather do this than buy and sell in-stock kits from

Let me teach you something about marketing.

"Debt relief" plans appeal to people who have problems with self control on debt and are looking for easy answers to solve their problems WITHOUT changing their bad behavior. Like diet pills for example.

The real solution to debt relief is to spend less and have fewer people narc on you.

From a long time satisfied customer...

  1. I'm going to miss Countdown if you do this.
  2. With family with over 30 years in the banking business, I truly believe you're being misled.
  3. I'm concerned for you personally.

One rocketeer to another.....

  1. Don't invest anything you can't afford to lose, including your reputation.
