Oh my. DooDoo doesn't know what day it is!
Roman Catholic priest and apparently didn't have a problem.
As an example of faith, Einstein believed in a steady state universe and when his math didn't work out introduced a 'cosmological constant', which we used to call a fudge factor. At one conference Einstein told
later ate a bit of crow over his fudge factor. Everyone has beliefs and tries to make reality conform to them.
Full Definition of DAY
2: the period of rotation of a planet (as earth) or a moon on its axisThus once again proving that Dudu doesn't know the meaning of words, and further can't be bothered to check the meanings of words.
Who won the civil war?
That's easy.
We did.
Why else would Conservative states like South Carolina be banning the flag of defeat and a symbol of opression?
That has a presumption that the War Between the States is over. It isn't.
GOPers still think we can compete in world markets if kids are taught with chalk and little boards...
Good.
And yet he replied correctly to you.
It was the whole country and it paid off.
Apparently his answer was over your head.
Oh please.
Wrong. The Bible version fails right at the starting gate by referring to creating the heavens and referring to waters.
Try teaching all of America's kids the old way and see how well we compete in a global economy...
His non-answer reflected the fact that he had no time for anyone with an ordinary public school education. That was George. It still is.

He's not far off. American's young-earth belief has ranged between 40% and 47% over the past 30 years:
Try reading your own cite, Eddie.
Jesus, now you're just embarrassing yourself.
"Between 1982 and 2014, successive surveys have found that between 40% and 47% of adults in the United States inclined to the view that "God created humans..."
Not the earth-- humans
".. in their present form at one time within the last 10,000 years" when Gallup asked for their views on the origin and development of human beings.
A 2011 Gallup survey reports that 30% of U.S. adults say they interpret the Bible literally. [13] These beliefs are often contradictory. A 2009 poll by Harris Interactive found that 39% of Americans agreed with the statement that "God created the universe, the earth, the sun, moon, stars, plants, animals, and the first two people within the past 10 000 years", yet only 18% of the Americans polled agreed with the statement "The earth is less than 10 000 years old".[14]
Now we're down to 18%. Clearly, not "the majority" like Wannabe claimed.
You are now dismissed.
" A 2009 poll by Harris Interactive found that 39% of Americans agreed with the statement that "God created the universe, the earth, the sun, moon, stars, plants, animals, and the first two people within the past
10 000 years."'Trouble reading your own quotes, Klausy?
Dudu is not very far off. In fact, here's the extended result from that survey question:
"God created the universe, the earth, the sun, moon, stars, plants, animals, and the first two people within the past 10 000 years. "
Agree: 39% Disagree: 50% Not sure: 11%
So it's pretty close to half.
Klaus Schadenfreude wrote in news: snipped-for-privacy@4ax.com:
I had an old earth/young earth conversation with a Baptist minister. We had it becuase I overheard one of the aides talking about young earth in a children's class (an activities class for under 10 during services). I told the Pastor that I was an old earth person, explained why and told him that that was what I taught my daughter. I didn't want to cause conflict in his church. To my surprise he acknowledged that a lot more Christians seem to be old earth types and for the reasons I enumerated, that there was no reason to think that God would leave so many clues as to the real age of the earth and then expect us to deny the evidence. He was a pretty cool guy, not what I expected.
The narrow minded bigots of course can't understand that.
I can read the statement in two ways. One is " God created the universe, t he earth, the sun, moon , stars, plants, animals. And the first two people within the past 10,000 years. " Now I am not saying this is the correct way to read it. If you think about the punctuation , the statement clearly says god created all those things within the past 10,000 years. What I am saying is that anyone being surveyed might have misunderstood it , and thi nk it means that two people were created in the past 10,000 years. And th e earth could have been created millions of years before humans.
I think most people believe that the earth was created way before humans. And that humans as we think of them only originated about 10,000 years befo re Christ. So it should be expected that people would misread that senten ce.

Surveys like this are highly dependent on how questions are worded. If you write a question that sounds like it challenges the word of the Bible, you're going to get a high pro-Bible result. If you ask the same question in specific terms that we might call "scientific," you'll generally get a more scientifically conventional result.
The original point that dudu had made here, if these were normal conversations, probably would have branched into that discussion. Instead, off it went into one of the Klaus/Scout/etc. attack jobs, in which they never miss an opportunity to put someone down in order to stroke their own egos.

I had a conversation with a "person of belief", and they STILL said they deserved those silk robes, fancy free home he gets to stay in with cable and
