I did say He was not wearing seat belts.

Jerry claimed he died from stess caused by the lawsuit. BIG difference.

Yep. Granted I know little about the case, but I would say that an unprotected (i.e.seatbelts) rollover contributed FAR more than any pending legal issues....

I am new to this forum, not new to the rocket hobby, just have not been active for a few years.

Is this Jerry Irvine, the same Jerry Irvine that blew up the new (first) Tripoli test stand a few years back?

The same Jerry Irvine that was kicked out of Tripoli?

The one that knew it all, but could not hold quality control over the products he tried to make.

The one that seems to spend more time posting to this forum and not fixing the broken links on his website?

Just wondering, if so, looks like some things never change.

Remember, some people spend all of their time trying to convenience others of their knowledge but the ones with true knowledge just show others.

Have a Happy New Year.

Hmmm... someone else with a mysterious manner and an apparent "axe to grind" about the distant past...

I dunno... seen anyone like that around these parts lately?

Executive summary:

Jerry and his buddies pay IN ADVANCE for test stand #1 (never built by TRA) approx $1000-1500 cash to either Blazanin or CER at a Fest launch

Jerry and his buddies pay IN ADVANCE for test stand #2 (never built by TRA) approx $1000-1500 cash to either Blazanin or CER at a Fest launch

Jerry and his buddies pay IN ADVANCE for test stand #3 (never built by TRA) approx $1000-1500 cash to either Blazanin or CER at a Fest launch

Jerry allegedly damages test stand #A (paid for by Prefecture FL I believe) with a 54mm K500-STD in a PHENOLIC case that fractured on igniton. Rogers INSISTED that if I was going to sell K500's in Fibereglass case, phenolic case AND a second style of fiberglass I had to test all three. Fine. So where are the other TWO K500's on the cert list?

When CER told me at BR the K500 popped at the test I asked if the stand was damaged and he said yes. So I reached into my pocket, whipped out $200 and said may I pay for it? Later I doulbled my offer, then tripled. He refused all. He RETURNED a fiberglass case L1000 (54mm full L) which was never fired for cert. I asked if he would cert it based on other data he claimed he had collected on a similar shorter motor and extrapolate plus observing the flight firing (he was in the motor company as a partner after all). He said no. Not because of that reason, but because I later learned he was in Phase 1 of the total blackball. ALL motors submitted and data collected up to that point after the prior publications and inclusive of many tests were all "lost" except the single 54mm L he returned, AND the 38mm J880 he personally loved. Not sure why he returned ONLY that.

Isn't TRA wonderful, ethical and sweet?

I have unlimited power to motivate fear based reactions in TRA leaders so plenty would.
